Upon returning to Tirana I was glad to read that Prime Minister Sali Berisha had broken his last year’s swimming record, and has this year, “inspired by the Olympic spirit,” stayed in the water for 141 minutes! It’s worth the effort translating the entire article, hearken to this wonderful propaganda!
Also this year, Prime Minister Berish has again chosen the seaside of Dhërmi to pass a holiday weekend [you see, only a weekend!].
Inspired by the Olympic spirit, Prime Minister Berisha, coming with his cousins to Dhërmi, today set a new personal record, 141 minutes of swimming in the Ionian Sea, against 132 minutes in the previous year.
The Prime Minister interpreted his new swimming record, from 09:10 in the morning until 11:31, as a good omen for his deserved [sic!] victory in the 2013 elections.
Prime Minister Berisha said that he believes that in august he may set a another new record [and he did!]. For Prime Minister Berisha, spending his vacation in Dhërmi during the summer season has turned into an annual tradition.
And indeed, on August 10, he broke his record from July by staying in the water from 09:10 (why again 09:10?) until 12:02, a whopping 172 minutes! Did anyone notice how some political figures love to prove their health by swimming?
